Download Gmail attachments by sender or date

When files arrive from a regular supplier, client, or colleague, finding every attachment can be more work than the download itself. Mail Senses collects Gmail attachments from the labels and date range you select, then prepares a free ZIP file. It does not currently filter directly by sender, so the reliable workflow is to use Gmail to label that sender’s mail first.

Download Gmail attachments

How it works

  1. Set up the sender selection in Gmail. Search Gmail with from:person@example.com or open a message from that sender and create a filter. Choose Apply the label and create a label such as Supplier invoices. Use Gmail’s option to apply the filter to matching conversations, then let the filter label future messages too. This keeps the sender rule in Gmail, where it belongs.
  2. Open Mail Senses and connect your Gmail account with read-only access. The app can find and download attachments but cannot send messages, change your Gmail filters or labels, or delete mail. Select the inbox or Gmail label created for the sender. You can select more than one label when the job calls for it.
  3. Set the start and end dates for the files you need. Choose a narrow period for a project, a month, or a quarter to avoid unrelated attachments. Date range is a direct Mail Senses filter. The app sends Gmail a search for the selected label and dates, then downloads eligible attachments from the matching messages.
  4. Know the limits before you run a broad search. Mail Senses does not provide a sender field, a keyword search, or a user-controlled extension filter. It downloads attachments with filename extensions from the matching messages, while skipping .eml files. Use Gmail search and labels first when sender, subject, or file type needs to define the set.
  5. Download the results as a ZIP and review them. The ZIP groups files in folders named after the Gmail labels you selected. For a large mailbox, repeat the job in smaller date ranges. That makes it easier to spot a missing period and keeps each download manageable. Prepared files are automatically deleted after 10 minutes.
